Our Story

We lost the photos from
a wedding we shot.

300 guests. 300 phones. One couple's best day — scattered across a thousand WhatsApp threads and Instagram Stories that nobody checked twice. We built Flashback Memories so that never happens again.

Alex and Jordan tell the story in about four minutes — if you'd rather read, scroll down.
"The photos were on 300 phones and they stayed there."

It was a Saturday evening in September 2021. Alex had just shot a full-day wedding — ceremony, speeches, dancefloor — and the couple called the next morning to ask if anyone had captured the moment their daughter ran onto the dancefloor midway through the first dance. Alex had. But 47 guests had also. None of those photos ever made it to the couple.

Jordan was already building things on Spring Boot. Within a week, a very rough version of Flashback Memories existed: upload files, get a QR code, print it. That weekend they tested it at a family event. It worked. Within three months they were charging for it.

Today Flashback Memories powers over 10,000 events — weddings, memorials, school plays, conferences, birthday parties — anywhere a group of people gathers and moments happen that deserve to be kept.

The Founders

Two people. One very annoying problem.

Alex Morgan
Co-Founder · CEO & Head of Product

Eight years shooting weddings. One problem he could never solve.

Alex spent eight years as a wedding and events photographer across the UK. Clients always asked the same question at the end: how do we get everyone else's photos? The answer was always awkward. Flashback Memories is Alex's answer — a decade of watching the problem, then two years building the fix.

Alex leads product direction and talks to customers every week to make sure the platform keeps solving the real problem rather than an imaginary one.

Co-Founder · CTO & Head of Engineering

72 hours from idea to working prototype.

Jordan has been writing backend systems for over a decade — APIs, infrastructure, distributed storage. When Alex described the problem, Jordan had a working proof of concept within 72 hours. The engineering instinct is always the same: keep it fast, keep it reliable, keep it simple for the person who just wants their photos.

Jordan runs the technical side of Flashback Memories — the Spring Boot backend, the QR delivery layer, the storage infrastructure — and is obsessive about uptime and sub-100ms response times.
